HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 77-131 RESOLUTION NO. 77-131 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOP- MENT OF BRYAN AVENUE AT BROWNING AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to imorove the intersection of Bryan Avenue and Browning Avenue. WHEREAS, Bryan Avenue and Browning Avenue are important arteries in the County of Orange and. of general County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of .the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a county, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Ta× Fund for · aid to any city in the improvement, construction or repair of a street wi thin a city, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action', provide in the ,r. ounty budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1978-79 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County. of Orange to allocate to said City from County funds the amount uf ~78,750.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of the intersection of Bryan Avenue and Browning Avenue, and for the acquisition of necessary rights of way; Said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project s ta temen t; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the Cou~ty of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on Bryan Avenue and Browning Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1978-1979.
