HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 77-1272 4 6 10 ~5 14 15 16 18 19 20 22 25 24 26 27 28 29 RESOLUTION NO. 77-127 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING TttE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION NGMINEES FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION. ' WHEREAS, Orange County has experienced one of the most pronounced growth rates in the nation, including marked increases in population and civilian employment, and value added. to products manufactured in California; and WHEREAS, Orange County accounts for at least twenty per- cent of the 693 freeway miles in Caltrans District 07; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transit District annually covers approximately 15,980,600 route miles; and WHEREAS, the California Transportation Commission has been created by Assembly Bill 402, and Orange County is worthy of representation on that Commission by virtue of its very important role in the State of California; and WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee of 'the Orange County Transportation Commission has recommended, and the Orange County Transportation Commission has endorsed, five qualified ~ndividuals from Orange County (Mary-Evelyn Bryden, Tony DiGiovanni, G. J. "Pete" Fielding, Doreen Marshall, and Frances Wood) as candidates for appointment to the California Transpor- tation Com~nission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the Tustin City Council, do hereby endorse the recommendations and nominees of the Orange County Transportation Commission, and urge the appointment of a representative of Orange County to the newly created California Transportation Commission.
