HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION QUITCLAIM OF SANTA ANA VALLEY IRRIGATION COMPANY (SAVi) EASEMENT AT 17241 IRVINE BOULEVARD II II I I I I I I I I I I II II I I SUMMARY The property owners, Zorro Investment Company, have requested that the City quitclaim an existing Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company Easement located on their property at 17241 and 17291 lrvine Boulevard. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the Quitclaim Deed to Zorro investment Company for the Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company Easement located on their property at 17241 and 17291 Irvine Boulevard.. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact to the City associated with the quitclaim of this Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Easement. BACKGROUND in the mid 1970's the City of Tustin acquired all of the easement rights of the Santa Ana Valley' Irrigation Company (SAVI) within the City limits and its sphere of influence. Previous easements that were deemed not to be utilized by the City have been quitclaimed to the property owners at their request, subject to a transfer fee of $90.00 per document as established by the City Council at their meeting of July 16, 1979. DISCUSSION The property owners, Zorro Investment Company, have requested that the City quitclaim the SAVI 'Easement rights as it relates to their property to facilitate development. Staff has investigated this request and has determined that the City will have no future need for this particular easement. ~, '":' D.
