HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM' PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER DIVISION SUBJECT' APPROVAL OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT- MOVING SERVICES FOR WATER DIVISION RELOCATION I I I I II t I I __ I III II I I I I SUMMARY Construction at the Water Division Main Street site requires the relocation of the current office and shop facilities to the Field Services Maintenance Facility. Staff is requesting the City Council to approve a Professional Services Agreement with Precision Relocation of Buena Park in the amount of $5,766 to provide moving services. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement with Precision Relocation of Buena Park in the amount of $5,766 for moving services to relocate Water Division and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement upon approval by the City Attorney FISCAL IMPACT Sufficient funds are available in the project budget (6143). BACKGROUND The impending construction of a new reservoir and pump station at the current Water Services Facility at 235 E. Main Street requires the relocation of the Water Division offices and shops to the Field Services Maintenance Facility at 1472 Service Road. Staff prepared a scope of work for moving services and requested proposals from a number of' firms four bids Were received on February 8, 2001. The following proposals were received. Precision Relocation Schick Moving and Storage Beltmann Group Ace Relocation Systems $5,766.00 $6,143.15 $6,58O.OO $8,OO5.75 Approval of Professional Services Agreement- Moving Services for Water Division Relocation February 20, 2001 Page 2 Precision Relocation has met all the requirements of the proposal and has demonstrated adequate experience in industrial and office relocations. Staff intends to complete the relocation by April 1, 2001 and will notify the public via water bill stuffers, the City's website and posted information at the Civic Center and Water Services. Tim D.
