Owners of properties that are selected by the City's Planning Commission for the program are recognized by the City Council. The Planning Commission will commend one property per calendar quarter. NOMINATED PROPERTY Property Address:335 S. C Street Structure Name (If any) McCharles House Owner of Property (if known)Audrey & Vivian Heredig Specify your reasons for the nomination (e.g. condition of structure and/or grounds, pride of ownership, architectural details, landscaping, overall maintenance, recent improvements, etc.): Your Name Brent Ferdig Your Residence or Business Address 140 South Myrtle Ave Tustin, CA 92780 Telephone Number 714 667-4475 Your Signature - Date To Be Completed by City Historic Designation: ^Local ^State ^National ^None Listing in Historical Survey: ^A ^B ^C ^D ^No Type ^Commercial ^Residential ^Institutional I am nominating the McCharles House for the Old Town Tustin Commendation program for the following reasons: • Pride of Ownership-The Heredia's have demonstrated pride of ownership since they purchased the property in 1978. Vivian personally cares for the gardens at the McCharles House and took the necessary steps to preserve the historic eucalyptus trees in front of the property. Saving these trees adds to the historic streetscape that once was very common in Old Town Tustin. • Recent Improvements-An addition was made to the original McCharles House. The Heredia's made every effort to insure that the new structure complemented the historic structure. They had the siding milled to match the original structure and custom wood. windows were installed to insure the new structure did not take away from the historic integrity of the McCharles House. Tustin is very privileged to have business owners like the Heredia's. They take pride in their business, the historic McCharles House and in Old Town Tustin. ~~~~~~ ~~ ' ~ ~ '' was f,. y ''' ~ ..}~~~ ~. , ;L+ ~~ ~ ~ P ~ } ~ .,moo. -s---,-- d r '1' ~ `y ~ Y ~~'~ r ~,;~ K; ~ ~ ~ ~~ o7 ~ ~ .~' ~ ~ ~~%4ti ~f ~ ~ ~ r ~~ ~ a~ !I ~ ~ j \~~~ 35 ~~ ~'~ i • ~ t~ ~~! ~ ~ ~g, ~r~ ?, _ti ~{ _~,{~ ;f~ ~, \': ~~ 'fy ~ ` 4. •, ~~.~ 9 ~ `~, . w, ~~ I r ~ .b . ,~ •~, err ~ ~ ~' .'~, ~~ '~~ l 1, ~ a ~ "t iF ~ ~~° T ~' ~ 1 r h. !j ~ / ~'" ~ ~~s, t„ rT'a ~ ~b~ I 't ~ rC1 `V v „~w'' t ~ t~ 1 r~ ~ Y}~ a - M ~ ~ '~ .,R ~ ~f :. ,.1 fit::' ~~ t ~ ~z "Y i ~ 1 1 ~V _ 1 ~ ~ ! ~ t r a: iyr ~.. `~ ~ j ~ ~ ~ air 1 ~:;~ ~ ~ j ~ 'NI ;- -~ i4 ~w +' - i n ,xh _ r.q~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~., i. ~ Ai~ sue. • ~ ~~ i~ .c• ~~ mss- ~ ~ ~ y,ti' y.
