RESOLUTION NO. 77-48
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, FINDING AND DETEMINING THAT THE PUBLIC
INTEREST AND CONVENIENCE REQUIRE THE SALE OF REAL PROPERTY
AT AN IRREGULAR SHAPED LOT AT 600 WEST SIXTH STREET,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE TUSTIN YOUTH CENTER.

The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve
as follows;
1. The City Council, upon recommendation of the Planning
Commission, hereby finds and determines as fol. lows:
a. That the property in its present location and
condition is not well suited to meet the needs
of the public for any current or. prospective
public use and is therefore excess and surplus land.

b. That the public interest is best served by the
disposal of said property for pri~ate use and/or
development.
c. That the minimum bid on such property and structures
shall be $80,000. Final sale shall be subject to
the normal real. estate sales provisions as prepared
by the City Attorney.

d. That the City reserves the right to refuse all bids.
2. That the property consists of 30,560 square feet on
.
a triangular shaded lot at 600 West Sixth Street, more
specifically depicted 'in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
3'. That the Youth Center building is structurally sound,
although requires repair work due to fire damage. A
copy of Structural Engineer's report 'is on file in the
office of the City Clerk. Use of the existing building'
requires complian'ce with all City Codes.
.4. That the land for sale is currently zoned and desig-
nated for Public and Institutional uses and may not
be used for any other purpose without an appropriate
zone change and amendment to the General Plan.
5. That bids shall be submitted no later than June 10
at 3-00 p.m., to the Tustin City Clerk's office,
Centennial Way at Main Street, Tustin, at which time
City staff shall open and review the bids prior to
submittal to the City Council at the June 2'0th public
hearing.
6. That a hearing is set for June 20, 1977, at 7:30 p.m.
in the City Council Chambers of the City of Tustin,
Centennial Way at Main Street, Tustin during a regular
meeting of the City Council. At such time, any and
all persons interested in said ,

City Council shall pass upon any ~and all offers

?. That a copy of this Resolution shall be published
once in ~he Tustin News, a weekly newspaper pub-
lished and circulated in the City of Tustin,
California,. and once in the Santa Ana Register,
· a daily, newspmper publ'i~hed in' the CounZy'of Orar~e,
California. The aforesaid publications shall be
made .not less thar~ ten (10) days prior to the date
of said public hearing. Prior to said publiC hear-
lng, copies of this Resolution shall be posted for
not less than ~en (10) days in at least three (3)
conspicuous places upon the aforesaid real property..
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tustin
City Council, held on the 2nd day of May, 1977.
