HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE CANOPY AT THE FIELD SERVICES STREET SWEEPER UNLOADING AREA (ClP NO. 1036) SUMMARY This project provides for a canopy covering of the street sweeper unloading area and vehicle wash rack, as required by water quality regulations and Orange County Sanitation District requirements. Construction of this project is nearly complete. However, two modifications to the' structure have resulted in a change order. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $47,405 for FY 2000/01 from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Improvement Fund to the Canopy for Street Sweeper Unloading Area Project (CIP No. 1036). FISCAL IMPACT The City's Capital Improvement Program Budget for FY 2000/01 provides $284,906 for this project. It is estimated that $47,405 in additional funds are needed to fund the contract change order required to complete the project. This amount will cover the contractor's costs for the modifications as well as costs for inspection, survey, materials testing and construction management. There are sufficient unappropriated funds in the amount of $47,405 in the Capital Improvement Fund to finance this project. BACKGROUND The two required modifications covered under this Contract Change Order are the result of design changes in the field and will provide for the extension of the Canopy over the entire street sweeping unloading area along with the relocation of one of the support columns.
