RESOLUTION NO. 84-93
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN REQUESTING
THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEMENT OF SEVENTEENTH STREET
BETWEEN THE COSTA MESA FREEWAY AND PROSPECT AVENUE NORTH
WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to improve Seventeenth Street
0 between the C'osta Mesa Freeway and Prospect Avenue north, and
7 WHEREAS, Seventeenth Street is an important artery in the County of
Orange and of general County interest, and

WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the
9 Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend
funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to
10 any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City,
and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action,
]~ provide in the County Road budget for the Fiscal Year 1985-86 a sum of money
for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in
15 accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustin
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to
15 said City from County Funds the amount of $56,450.00, said amount to be matched
by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of
10 Seventeenth Street between the Costa Mesa Freeway and Prospect Avenue north,
said improvements to _be in accordance with the attached project statement;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of supervisors of the County of
18 Orange is hereby requested'to find that said improvements on Seventeenth
Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin
~0 agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and
further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way
i)! will be available for the fiscal year 1985-86.
