RESOLUTION NO. 77-30
A RESOLUTION OF THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN CALIFORNIA, POSTHUMOUSLY HONORING AND
COMMENDING CLIFTON C. MILLER
%'iHEREAS, Clifton C. Miller served the City of Tustin most
faithfully and diligently in many' positions, including being one
of the original members of the General Plan Study Committee; a
member of the City Planning Com.~ission from 1963 until August
1964, at which time he was appointed to the City Council to fill
an unexpired term; later he was duly elected to the position of
Councilman, serving until September 1973, and as Mayor from 1972
to 1973; during his time on the Council, Mr. Miller was also
CouncilCommissioner for City Parks and Recreation; and ·
WHEREAS, Clifton Miller. donated ge.nerously of his time
and very able efforts to many organizations and committees in
connection with municipal government, including Orange County
Sanitation Districts 1 a'nd 7, the Orange County Mosquito Abate-
ment District, the League of Cali'fornia Cities in both County
and State representation, and Chairman of the Orange County
Local Agency Formation Commission. Also, during this time.,
Clifton Miller was an enthusiastic, dedicated leader and worker
in the planning, designing and building of the new Tustin City
Center, lending his talents and abilities until completion; and
WHEREAS, the memories of Clifton C. Miller will 'always
'be treasured, his dedication to our .community always remembered,
and the high ideals he maintained for himself always respected
and appreciated;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, in.
an effort to express its gratitude on behalf of everyone, and to
give special recognition to Clifton C.Miller, hereby resolves
that the Tustin Community Building now be named in his honor
and memory, to be known and designated henceforth as-
"THE CLIFTON C. MILLER COMMUNITY CENTER".
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of TUstin hereby expresses .appreciation to Clifton C. Miller
and to his family for the service given to the community, and as
Members of the Tustin City Council, we hereby adopt and affix
our signatures to this Resolution of Commendation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular me.etin~ of the'Tustin
City Council, held on the fourth day of April, 1977.
