RESOLUTION NO. 76-55
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING THE SANTA ANA RIVER FLOOD CONTROL
PLAN AND URGING ITS IMPLEMENTATION

"' The City Council of the City'of Tustin does hereby resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS., the Corps of 'Engineers has completed 'a draft review
report dated August-1975 entitled "Review Report on the Santa Ana River
Main Stem and Santiago Creek, and has completed i'ts latest studies and
recommended a project to prevent disastrous flooding in the Urban Areas
of San Bernard ino, Riverside, and Orange Counties; and .
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers recommends in its project report
t'he approval of a flood protection plan which includes: cohstruction of a
new dem and reservoir at Mentone in San Bernardino County; modification of
Prado Dam including rebuilding the emergency spillway and outlet works,
raising the dam and providing a contro!led discharge; improvements of the
Santa Ana River Channel th'rough urban Orange County for standard project
flood protection; and im?rovement of the lower portions of Santiago Creek
for' standard project, flood protectS, on.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the' City Council urges the.
adoption, of the Report prepared by the Corps of Engineers and all diligent
support to realize the accomplishments of that plan together with'

A limit of the discharge from Prado Dam to a capacity
contemporaneous with peak discharges from the downstream
watershed tributary .to the Santa Ana River during the
occurrence of a standard.project flood, said discharge
mi'nimizing the relocation of homes i'n Orange, Riverside
and San Bernardino counties.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regul.ar meeting of the Tustin City
Council held June 21, 1976.
