CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN RECOMMENDING AMENDMENTS TO THE ORANGE COUNTY PLAN OF ARTERIAL HIGHWAYS WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange hag under consideration alternative recommendations for the ac- commodation, of traffic, demands for the Southeastern po'rtion of Orange County, and · WHEREAS,. projected 'populations and traffic demands 'for the study area impose traffic burdens upon the City of Tustin beyond the capacity of the existing arterial highway systat, to accommodate, and ~ - }~rlERE'AS, Alternative No'. 2 'of the SEOCCS' Study does provide traffic relief to existing developments and would accom- modate future developments within the project., area. ._ · . NOW, THEREFORE, be it resoved that' the .City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby endorse Alternative No. 2 of the Southeast Orange County Circulation Study, which would provide . for a major traffic corridor in the foothill area to accommodate the projected population d,mands of' the North Irvine Area, with the further endorsement of priority status for the proposed Jamboree Boulevard extension from its northern terminus in the City of Irvine to an interconnection with the Foothill Corridor. in the North Tustin area, and. - .. . . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any alternative. ~h.at pro- poses to use Irvine Boulevard as the major traffic artery to serve the North I~rine and Southeast Orange County area as a east-west major arterial is an anacceptable alternative for the · City of Tustin.
