HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 74-077 RESOLUTION NO. 74-77 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING THE PROPOSED 100% FINANCING OF THE ORANGE COUNTY MASTER PLAN OF ARTERIAL BIKEWAYS . The City Council, City of Tustin, California, does hereby · resolve as follows- 1) The City' Council hereby finds and defermines as follows- (a) That the County of Orange Harbors, Beaches and Parks District has prepared a Master Plan of After-. ial Bikeways in conjunction with the City of Tustin. (b) That the existing countywide coopera'~ive Bikeway Financing Program (OCBFP) allocates funds for the acquisition and development of bicycle ways on a 50-50 matching basis for areas within the incorpor- ated cities of Orange County. (c) That the Harbor, Beaches and Park District proposes that funds be allocated to the Arterial Bikeways, Plan Implementation by a 100% contribut:lon of County funds. 2) The City Council of Tusfin; with %he reco~mnendat'ion of the Planning Commission, hereby endorses the proposed 100% County funding of Arterial Bikeways on the ba..sis that- ~ (a) Complete funding will provide for programmed com- pletion of the network system with linkages rather than partial completion creating safety problems for art. erial bikeways that end at othe.~ than desig- nated terminals. (b) That the arterial bikeways will be of benefi% to the totality of county residents %o a greater ctegree than the residents of any single com~munity and thus should be financed in total by county funds. 3) The proposed responsibility f~r route maintenance 'to be performed by the respective city-county j.urisdictions should be futher consic]..ered in the interest of economy, efficiency, and uniform maintenance.
