HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 74-068 RESOLUTION NO. 74-68 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL FOR PARTICIPA- TION IN THE ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PROGRAM DURING THE 1974-75 FISCAL YEAR. WHEREAS, the .Department of California Highway Patrol has been given the responsibility for establishing, implementing, and administering a statewide program concerning abandoned vehicle abatement, and WHEREAS, the Department of California Highway Patrol has heretofore evidenced its intention to negotiate an agreement w'ith each city which has ordinances and a city pr. ogram for th'e' i abatement of abandoned vehicle's wbich ordinances and program comply with Sections 22660 and 22710 of the Vehicle Code, and WHEREAS, the Ci.ty of Tustin has heretofore adop.ted the :required ordinances and implemented an abatement program in accordance therewith, and WHEREAS, 'pursuant to such an agreement, the cities and counties of the State will be reimbursed for the costs of abatement of such abandoned vehicles, and WHEREAS, it.is the desire of the City Council of the City of Tustin to continue to participate in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program with the Department of California Highway Patrol and to receive reimbursement for the costs which are -:ncurred by the City 'in administering this program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT. RESOLVED by the City. Council of the City of Tustin that the City hereby requests the Department of California Highway Patrol to execute a contract by and between t said Department and the City of Tustin for the establishment, implementation, 'and administration of the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program witin the City of Tustin during the period of July 1, 1974 through June 30, 1975. BE IT FURTtiER RESOLVED that by this resolution the City Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests to continue to I participate in the Abandoned Vehicle abatement Program. WHEREAS, the A'bandoned Vehicle Abatement Program is being financed through the Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund created pursuant to V. ehicle Code Section 9250.7, and PASSED AND ADOPTED AT a regular meeting of the City Council the 3rd day of September 1974 MA Y O R STATE OF CALIFORNIA) COUNTY OF ORANGE )SS CITY OF TUSTIN ) RUTH C.
