A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL
HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE PRELIMINARY
ENGINEERING FOR THE A.T. & S.F. RAILROAD
GRADE SEPARATION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to improve the
Red ttill Avenue, Newport Avenue and future Jamboree Road
crossings at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad,
and
WHEREAS, Red Hill Avenue, Newport Avenue and future
Jamboree Road are important arteries in the County of Orange
and of general County interest, and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if
it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of 'the
California 'tIighway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in
the improvement, construction or repair of a street within
a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by
appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the
Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year '74-'75
a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the
incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the
Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that' the City Council
of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County
funds the amount of $7,500.00, said amount to be matched
by funds from said 'City, to be used to aid said City in the
improvement, of Red Hill Avenue, Newport Avenue and future
Jamboree Road crossings at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa.

BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board. of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that
said work at Red Hill Avenue, Newport Avenue and future
Jamboree Road crossing at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railroad, in the manner provided, is in the general County
interest;
City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the
tlighway Financing Program; and further agrees that its
share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be
available for the Fiscal Year '74-'75.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Tustin, California, this 17th day o f December, 1973..
