HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 72-842 3 5 8 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 24 25 26 27 28 29 3O 31 RESOLUTION NO. 72-84 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF TUSTIN ON THE 12TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1972, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Tustin, County of Orange, State of Calif6rnia, on Tuesday, the 12 th day of December, 19 72, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts wer properly established; that election officers appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvass~ed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as ,. required by the provisions of th~ Elections Code of the State .I of California for the holding of elections in cities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 72-75 adopted the 6th day of November, 1972, the City Clerk of the City of Tustin canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A". NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS · SECTION 1. That there were 8 voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the City of Tustin as established for the holding of state and county elections. SECTION 2. That said regular special municipal election was held for the purpose of election the following officer of said City as required by the laws relating to cities in the State of California, to wit- 1 Member of the City Council of said City for %e~ 6f office ending April 1974. SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City (except absent voter ballots) was 1209 That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 7 , making a total of 1216 votes cast in said City. SECTION 4. That the names of persons voted for at said election for Member of the City Council of said City are as follows - BONNIE BATH MILTON E. CURTIS DONA J. EVA2~S · ~ II THO~4AS L. TOM WOODRUFF 2 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 25 27 28 29 30 31 That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes eiven in the City to each of such persons above named for the office for which said per-sons were candidat~_s were as listed in Exhibit "A" attached. that · SECTION 5. The City Council does declare and determin,~ Thomas L. Woodruff was elected as Member of the City Council of said City for a term of office ending April 1974. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing- (1) The whole number of votes cast in the city; (2) The names of the persons voted for; (3) For what office each person was voted for; (4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person; (5) The number of votes given in the city to each person SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall imediately make and, upon compliance by the person elected with the provisions of Section 11565 and Section 11568 of the Elections Code of the State of California, shall deliver to such persons so elected a Certificat~of Election signed by her and duly authenticated; that she shall also administer to the person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitution: of the State of California and shall have him subscribe thereto and file the same in her office. Whereupon, said person~so elected, shall be inducted into the respective office to which he has been elected. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage· and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
