BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignation of John Nielsen of the Planning Commission and Bryan
Glassman of the Community Services Commission, a vacancy now exists on both
commissions. A public notice that the City Council is seeking candidates to serve on
these commissions was published on the City's website, posted on the City's posting
boards, and a press release was sent to the Tustin News. The information released
included a brief description of qualifications, duties, and meeting time.
Applications are due in the City Clerk's Office on or before August 22, 2008 and will be
distributed to Council as they are received. The final step in the selection process will
be the interview and appointment of commissioners. Staff recommends that Council set
September 2nd as the date to hold interviews and make a selection.
