HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 71-73RESOLUTION NO. 71-73 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 71- 70 AND APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY PARK AT FIRST STREET BETWEEN "B" AND "C" STREETS. · . WHEREAS, it is..the intention of. the City Council of the 'City of Tustin, California, to .construct a public park at First between "B" and "C" Streets..~ ': · W~E~AS, the City Parks and Recreation Director has pre- sented plans specifications for.the construction of said work at :: ~hese locations, · · NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the plans and specifi- cations presented by the City Parks & Recreation Director be and are. hereby approved as the plans and specifications for the con- struction of a public park at First botween "B" and "C" Streets. BE IT FURT]{ER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorize-' and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sea~.e bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the afores=_: plans and specifications°'which said advertisement shall be substan~ia in the following words and figures, to-wit: "NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS" SEALED PROPOSALS will be received at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 140 West Second Street, Tustin, Ca~i-~_ ~c-- until 11 o'clock on the 29th day of November, 1971, at which they will be publicly opened and read, for performing work as In the City of Tustin, construction of a public park at First between "B" and "C" Streets. . Bids are required for the entire work described herein. Plans, specification, and proposal forms to be used for bl,'..,",?,. on this project can only be obtained at the Tustin City Hall~ Tustin, California. . In conformance with Section 37931 of the Government Code, ai'~ bids shall be presented 6nder sealed cover on the proposal 'form provided and. accompanied by one of the following forms of bidde security: " a. Bidder's bond executed by an accredited surer7 · insurer, mado pay. able to the City of ~ustin' The security shall be in an amount equal, to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of..the bid. A bid shall not be c.2~~' sidered unless one of the forms' of bidder's security is enclc~.' therewith. A Surety Bond of an insurance company rated A+AA or better for payment of labor and materials will be required in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the estimated total contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount 'of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated total contract price. City of Tustin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or waive any informality on a bid. No bidder may withdra. bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for opening thereof. · · The contract will be awarded on the basis of the lowest bid. . · · All work to be done under the direct supervision of the Ci~" Parks and Recreation Director, or his authorized representati~:.. Said City of Tustin, pursuant to the Labor Code of the State of California, has ascertained and determined that the general prevailing rate of hourly and per diem wages in the locality in w the. said work herein described is to be performed, for each crafr~ or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract and also the general prevailing rate for legal holidays and over- time work for each craft or type of workman or 'mechanic, to be as A-2 defined in Section 1773.1 of the Labor Code, are to be paid in accordance, with the terms of .the collective bargaining agreement applicable to 'the typo or classification of tho workmen or mechanics employed on the project.
