~ A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN
INITIATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
~ TUSTIN TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND DESIGNATED AS
4 "U. S. MARINE CORPS-IRVINE ANNEXATION NO. 71-A"
TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN, AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE
~ PROPOSED ANNEXATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN:
~ 1. That the owners of all of the land in the territory
proposed to be annexed have filed with the Clerk of the City of
8 Tustin their consent that their property may be annexed to the C
of Tustin.

2. That, pursuant, to the provisions of the Annexation
10 of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been ini-
tiated by the Council of the City of Tustin, .on its own motion,
11 to annex to the City of Tustin all that uninhabited territory
situate in the County of Orange, State of California, hereby deslg.
12 hated as "U. S. MARINE CORPS-IRVINE ANNEXATION NO. 71-A" described Ii in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this
14Ii 3. That the City Council hereby finds and determines
'i that all of said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of
15 '. Government Code Section 35303, on the date of the adoption of this
~ Resolution, that said territory is contiguous to the City of
16 Tustin.
171 4. That the City Council of the City of TuStin desires
to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Tustin for the
18!. following reasons: That the territory is. contiguous to the City
of Tustin, and its proposed annexation will-contribute to and
19 facilitiate the orderly growth and .development of both the City { and the 'territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and
~0 contribute to the proper and orderly layout, design and construc-
tion of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water
~1 i sewers and drainage facilities, both wi thin the City and wi thin th~
territory proposed to be annexed= and will provide and facilitiate.
~ ! pzoper over-all planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of
lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most
conducive to the welfare of said City and uninhabited territory.

5. That the Local Agency Formation Commission did, in
session duly assembled, on May 26, 1971, approve said proposed
annexation.
6. That November 15, 1971, at the hour of 7:30 P.M.,
which is a date not more than thirty (30) days following the
passage of this Resolution, in the Council' Chambers, 275 South
"C" Street (corner of Third Street), City of Tustin, COunty of
Orange, State of California, is hereby fixed as the time and place
when and where the City Council shall hear protests from any owner
of property within the City who does not also own property in the
territory to be annexed.
7. That the City Clerk of the City of Tust~n is hereby
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be
published at least once in the Tustin News, a newspaper of general
circulation published in the city of Tustin, the City to which it

is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also i~1 the
Santa Aha Register, a newspaper of general circulation published
outside the City. of Tustln, but in the County of Orange, California
the County in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed
to the City of Tustin. Publication shall be comD leted at least
four (4) days prior to the date set for the hearing. -
8. In the event there is, upon the. land proposed to
~e annexed, a structural improvement, owned, being acquired, or
leased by the County fize protection district, the said Clerk is
directed to cause a written notice of such proposed annexation to
be mailed to the governing body of such district.
9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written .notic~'~..
to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled
to, in the manner required by law.

Beginning at the .point of intersection of the northeasterly right-of-way
:line .of...the' Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fo Railway Company (100' wide) , as
per deed recorded .in Book 245, Page 223 of Deeds, Records of Los /Lngeles
County, California, with the southeasterly line of Lo~ 188, Block 63,. of
'"~rvine's Subdivision, as per map recorded in Book 1, Page 88 of Miscellaneous
~aps, records of Orange County, California;
Thence, N. 49o20'40'' W., along said. northeasterly railroad right-of-way
line, a. distance of 2170.72 feet to the true point of beginning of the
parcel ..to be described, said true point., of beginning being a point on a
non-tangent curve, concave .northwesterly and having a radius of 1400.00
feet, a radial line .to said point bears S. 51°39'08" E.;
Thence, northeasterly, along the arc of said curve, a distance of

720.12 feet, through a central angle of 29°28'17'', to ~he point of tangency
with a line having a bearing of N. 8°52'35'' E.;
Thence, N. 8o52'35'' E., along said line, a distance of 1949.64 feet,

Thence, northeasterly, along the arc of said curve, 'a distance of

Thence, continuing S. 39°56'00'' W., along said City boundary and
along said northwesterly line, a distance of '2,548 feet more or less, . to the
most southerly corner of said annexation, said "southerly corner also being
a point on the southwesterly line of Lot 44, Block 45, of said Irvine's
Subdivision and being the most easterly corner of the Red Hill-Walnut
Annexation to the City of Tustin, California, per Ordinance No. 343, passed
and adopted March 20, 1967;
Thence, S. 39o53'00" W., along said City of Tustin boundary, as
established by last mentioned annexation and along said northwesterly line,
a distance of 1,880 feet-more or less, to the beginning of a tangent curve,
concave easterly and having a radius of 794.49 feet;
Thence, along the arc of said curve, through a central angle of
~4°15'00'', a distance of 890.92 feet to the most southerly corner of last
mentioned annexation, said southerly corner also being a point on the north-
easterly right-of-way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fo Railway Company
(100' wide) first described above; .
Thence, leaving said City boundary, S. 49020'40'' E., .along said
~ortheasterly railroad right-of-way line, a distance of 4646.80 feet to
he true point, of beginning.
