HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 71-66 RESOLUTION NO. 71-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFI- CATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON YORBA STREET FROM NORWOOD PARK PLACE TO 275' SOUTH AND ON NORWOOD PARK PLACE FROM YORBA STREET TO 250' EAST. WHEREAS, 'it is the intentiOn of the' City Council of the City of Tustin, California, to construct street improvements . on Yorba Street from Norwood Park Place to 275' south and on 'Norwood Park Placo from Yorba Street to 250' east, and WHE.REAS, the City Engineer has presented plans specifications " for the construction of said work at these locations, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that' the plans and specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby approved as the plans and specifi'cations for the' construction of street improve- ments on Yorba. Street from Norwood Park Place to 275' South and on Norwood Park Place from Yorba Street to 250' east. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in ~.e aforesaid plans and specifications which said. advertisement sha-ll be substantially in the following words and figures, to-wit: "NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS" SEALED PROPOSALS will be received at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 140 West Second Street, Tustin, California, until 11 o'clock A.M. on the First day of November , 1971, at which time they will be publicly opened a--nd read, for p~'rf~rming work as follows: In the City of Tustin, street improvements on Yorba Street from Norwood Park Place to 275' south and on Norwood'Park Place from Yorba street to 250' east. Plans, specification, and proposal forms to be used for bidding on this project can only be obtained at the Tustin City Hall, Tustin, California. - In conformance with Section 37931 of the Govornmont Code, all bids shall be 'presented under sealed cover on the proposal form provided and accompaniod by one of the follow±rig forms of b±dder~$ security: . · a, Cash · b; Cas. hier's check made payable to the City ~f Tustin c. Bidder's bond executed by an accredited surety .[insurer, made payable to th.e City of Tustin The-security shall be in an amount equal to at least ten percen~ (10%) of the amount of the bid. A bid shall not be con- sidered unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed therewith. A Surety Bond for payment 'of labor and materials will be required in the amount of fifty percent {50%) of the estimated total contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated total contract price. · City of Tustin .reserves the right to reject any or all 'bids, and/or waive any informality on a bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof. · o Bid 'alternate "A" and bid alte°rnate "B" 'are considered equal and the contract will be awarded on' the basis of whichever is the lowest total bid. Provisions of the State Contract Act are not applicable, and prospective bidders will not be required to be prequalified. · Ail work to be done under the direct supervision of the City Engineer, City of Tustin.
