HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 71-34RESOLUTION NO. 71- 34 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, RECOGNIZING THE ORANGE COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE COUNCIL AS THE REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING BOARD. The City Council of the City of Tustin, California does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the President's Crime Commission of 1967, recognized the urgent need for comprehensive criminal justice planning in the United States, and WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, provided a national strategy to address the documented problems in the administration of justice, and WHEREAS, the Governor, pursuant to provisions of the Deukmejian-M0retti Act established, the California Council on Criminal Justice as the State Criminal Justice Planning Agency to further the comprehensiveness of criminal justice planning in this State, and WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets legislation has provided that forty percent (40%) of planning money must be distributed through local governments or combination. of units of lo'cal government, and WHEREAS, the California Council on Criminal Justice has established Orange County as a separate region, effective 1 July, 1971, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Tustin, recognizes the Orange County Criminal Justice Council as the Orange County regional planning and coordinating body for criminal justice.
