HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 71-06 RESOLUTION NO. 71-6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, URGING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO FOLLOW AND IMPLEMENT THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE 1970 ORANGE COUNTY GRAND JURY REPORT REGARDING ASSIGNMENT OF MARSHAL'S FUNCTIONS TO THE SHERIFF. WHEREAS, the 1970 Orange County Grand Jury, on December 9, 1970, issued a report relating to improvements in law enforcement and; . WHEREAS, the merging of the Sheriff's Office and the Marshal's Office can result in organizational and operational el- efficiencies,as well as economy. NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Tustin that the Board of Supervisors is urged to under- take the phasing out of services of the Marshal's Office and assign- of these responsibilities to the County Sheriff BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is directed to send copies of this resolution to the Orange County Board of Supervisors, the cities in Orange County, and the State Legislators representing Orange County.
