HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 70-46-ARESOLUTION NO. 70-46-A A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND · SPECIFICATIONS FOR TI-IE WIDENING OF BRYAN AVENUE, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING TIlE CITY CLERK TO · ADVERTISE FOR BIDS. , WttEREAS, it is the intention of the City Co~nc~l of the City of Tustin, California, tO widen Bryan Avenue from Cindy Lane to approximatel..,y'550 feet west of Cindy Lane, and WIIEREAS, thc City Engineer has presented plans and specifications for the construction of said work at these locations, NOW TttEREFORE, be it resolved that the plans and specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby approved as the plans and speci- fications for the widening of Bryan Avenue from Cindy Lane to approximately 550 feet west of CindY .Lane. · BE IT FURTIIER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications, which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words and figures, to wit. "NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS" SEALED PROPOSALS will be receiVed at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 140 Nest 2nd St:., Tustin, California, until 11 o'clock A.M. on the:: 5_th (lay of Oc.t:o.b.er ....... , 1970, at which time they will be publicly opened and read, for performing work as follows. The foregoing quantities are approximate only, being given as a basis for the comparison of bids, and the City of Tustin does not, expressly or by implication, agree that the actual amount of work will correspond therewith, but reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount of any class or portion of the work, or to omit portions of the work as may be deemed necessary or advisable by the Engineer. · Plans, specifications, and.proposal forms to be used for bidding on this project can only be obtained at the Tustin City tlall, Tustin, California. In conformance with Section 37931 of the Government Code, all bids shall be presented under sealed cover ola the proposal form provided and accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security. Cash Cashier's check made payable to the City of Tustin Certified check made payable to the City of Tustin Bidder's bond executed by an accredited surety insurer, made payable to the City of Tustin The security shall be in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. A bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed therewith. A Surety Bond for payment of labor and mate'i-ials, will be required in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the total contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the estimated total contract agreement. City of Tustin reserves the rig~ to reject any or all bids, and/or waive any informality on a bid.
