RESOLUTION NO. 70--41
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 840 RELATIVE TO COUNCIL POLICY NO. 20-9.
The'City Council of the City of Tustin, California,
does hereby resolve as follows'
That Resolution No.

to Council Policy No. 20-9.
.That Council Policy No. 20-9, as amended, relative
to Uhiform Allowance, a copy of which is attached .hereto marked

1. To establish the policies, regulations and procedt~rer' rel,."~tive

2. This policy applies on:ly'"to uniformed personnel of the Police

uniforms will be eligible for uniform replacement assistance,
not to exceed $120 per year per person in the Police Department,
$96 per year per person in the Fire Department, and $6.0 per year
per maintenance employee.

Police

New personnel are. required to purchase two complete
uniforms and other required personal equipment (pistol,
leather, etc.) when employed. A~ the option of the City, .
the City will reimburse, or purchase on behalf of the
employee for the amount required up to $120 as' the
first year's allotment. '

Afte.r the' first year, each officer will be eligible for
uniform replacement, to be expended at the discretion
cf the Police Chief as required (maximum $120 per year
per man).
Reserve police personnel will receive $30 reimbursement
after successfully completing 100 hours service' with
the Department.

B. Fire
1. New personnel are required to purchase on,', Class A
uniform plus one extra trousers and two r.'.~;<Lra shirts
when employed. Also required are three C1-,ss B work
uniforms with' an optiona.1 jacket. At th~'option of
the City, the City will reimburse or purchase on '.

C. Maintenance

1. New Personnel are required to purchase three sets of
uniforms (or participate in a uniform rental service)
and two pair of safety shoes (except for building
maintenance and other specified employees) when
employed. At the option of th~. City,. the City will
reimburse, or purchase on behalf, of the employee for
the amount required up to $60 as the first year's

2. After the first year, each employee will be eligible
for uniform replacement, to be expended at the discre-
tion of the Maintenance Superintendent as required
(maximum $60 per year per man), ~'
D. Polic~, Fire and Maintenance
1. Except for the first year, employees will ng~ receiv~
cash reimbursement for uniforms.
2.. Uniforms will be the property of the City, and must be
returned to the City upon termination of employment.
3. Uniforms damaged in line-of-duty will be repaired or.'
replaced at City expense, based on survey and recom-
mendation of the respective Department Heads.

4. Uniforms will not be worn for any reason while not on
duty, unless in'transit to or from such City duty, or
as specifically authorized in each instance by the
respective Department Head. '
