SUBJECT: INTERVIEW AND APPOINT MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING AND
COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSIONS
SUMMARY:
The City Council will conduct interviews and appoint one (1) member to the Planning
Commission and one (1) member to the Community Services Commission. The Planning
Commissioner selected will serve until March 1, 2009 or until their respective successor is
appointed and qualified. The Community Services Commissioner selected will serve until
March 1, 2010 or until their respective successor is appointed and qualified.
RECOMMENDATION:
Conduct interviews and appoint a member to the Planning Commission and Community
Services Commission.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
BACKGROUND:
On August 5, 2008, the City Council set the date of September 2nd at 5 p.m. to conduct
interviews to fill the vacancies on the Planning Commission and Community Services
Commission. The City Clerk's Office received three applications for each of the
commissions as follow:
Planning Commission:
ENGIE, KEAN
KASALEK, MARGE
SAMRA, MANDIP KAUR
Community Services Commission:
ADELSECK, DANIEL
COOPER, BARRY
HALL, JANICE M
Following the oral interview, the final step in the selection process would be completion of
the ballots by the City Council, and the City Clerk announcing results in open session.
