HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 1008RESOLUTION NO. 1008 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING THE TUSTIN AREA WOMEN'S CLUB WHEREAS, more than ten years ago the TUSTIN AREA WOMEN'S CLUB began its participation in the task of beautifying the City of Tustin; and WHEREAS, the TUSTIN AREA WOMEN'S CLUB was instrumental in the selection of the Camelia as the official flower of the City; and WHEREAS, representatives of this orgonization helped to promote the creation of the Cultural and Rccreational Advisory Board' and WHEREAS, overr the years these ladies have worked unceasing!y to promote anti-litter campaigns and clean-up days' .to keep our City clean, as well as beautiful; and WHEREAS, the TUSTIN AREA WOMEN'S club has made extensive studies of types and varieties of trees, in order to ascertain the trees best suited to the climatic and soil conditions of our area, and were instrumental in the selection of the Red Flowering Gum Tree (Eucalyptus Ficifolia) as the official tree of thc City, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, that the tirelcss efforts and outstanding contributions of the TuSTIN AREA WOMEN'S CLUB to our CITY and its beautification, be, and the same hereby are, recognized and commended, and the deep appreciation expressed of this Council and of the citizens of the City of Tustin. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 7th day of July, 1969.
