A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
URGING THAT THE TUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL LANDSCAPING BE
MAINTAINED AND EXTENDED.
WHEREAS it has been indicated that the School Board is
considering installing a parking lot on the present front lawn
area of Tustin High School; and
WHEREAS the installation of a large 'area of asphalt
for parking of cars would result in a considerable diminution of
the aesthetic value of an important part of the Tustin area; 'and
WHEREAS, the City of Tustin has .energetically endeavored
to create, maintain and extend an 'atmosphere of landscaping,
lawns, trees and green areas of various kinds; and
WHEREAS to lose an opportunity to re-establish a large
segment of greenery on the Tustin scene would, be detrimental
to the atmosphere of The High School and the City,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Tustin does hereby respectfully request the School
Board of the Tustin Union High School District to give every
consideration to re-establishing lawn and landscaping on the
Laguna Road frontage at the Tustin High School to restore the
historic, handsome appearance Of the school and thereby benefit
the community at large.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tustin, California, held on the 2nd day of
December , 1968
