HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 8724 8 18 19 81 RESOLUTION NO. 872 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 678, AND ADOPTING COUNCIL POLICY NO. 20-10, RELATIVE TO APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSION MEMBERS. The 'City Council of the 'City of' Tustin, California does hereby resolve as· follows- That Resolution No. 678 be and hereby is rescinded. That Council Poli'cy No. 20-10, relative to the appointment of Commission m~mbers, a copy of which is attached hereto marked Exhibit A 'and incorporated herein by this reference, is hereby appr.oved and adopted and incorporated in the Council Policy Manual. POLICY Planning Commission A. The Planning Commission shall con.sist of seven members who shall be appointed by a majority vote of the City Council for a term of four years. Appointees filling vacancies occurring during a regular term shall serve the remainder of the term of the preceding appointee. B.. Only applications from registered voters of the City of Tustin will be considered for appointment. Members must remain registered voters to be retained on the Planning Commission. C..One month prior to the expiration of the term of a member, the City Council shall publish notice of public hearing for the purpose of filling the vacancy and accept applications of persons qualified for service on the Planning Commission. Selection for the vacant Commission membership shall be' made from the list, by resolution adopted in a public hearing. Applications of qualified persons not selected shall be maintained for the purpose of fill'lng vacancies occurring at periods other than the end of a regular term. · D. An appointee member of the Commission may be removed at any time by a majority vote of the City Council. E. Should a position on the Commission become vacant through resignation, removal, or'death, appointment for filling that vacancy may be made by the City Council without regard to provisions of this Policy requiring notice of . hearing and submission of applications. F. The Cormmission shall meet at the times set forth in Council Policy No. 30-2. Parks and Recreation Commission A. The Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by a majority vote C!TY 0~. Appointees filling vacancies occurring during a regular term shall serve the remainder of the term of the preceding appointee. B. Applications will be accepted on the. basis that at least three members of the Parks and Recreation Commission ~USt~be residents of the City of Tustin. C. Applications of qualified persons not selected shall be maintained for the purpose of filling vacancies occurring at periods other than the end of a regular term. D. An appointee member of the Commission may be removed at any time by a majority vote of the City Council. E. The Commission shall meet as often as necessary to carry out its responsibilities but shall meet at least once each month in regular session. .......
