A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING
SUPPORT OF FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT BOND
ISSUE ELECTION March 21, 1967.
WHEREAS, the Chief Engineer of the Orange County
Flood Control District has prepared an Engineers Report for
the construction of numerous flood control and water conser-
vation projects throughout Orange County with an estimated
cost of such projects; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors,
acting as Board of Directors for the flood control district,
has adopted said report and proposes to place the matter before
the voters of this County for the issuance of flood control
bonds to cover the cost of such projects; and
WHEREAS, the previous flood .control district bond
issue authorized in June, 1956, in the amount of $42,620,000
has played a vital role in the explosive growth and expansion
of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the new proposed
bond issue will have a similar effect in the future and will
be necessary for the continued growth and development in the
County; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Tustin will
derive both direct and indirect benefits from the proposed
flood control projects; and
WHEREAS, the proposed flood control bond iss~ie
above mentioned will not increase the district tax rate;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing,
the City Council of the City of Tustin does resolve that this
Council endorses said bond issue proposal and strongly recom-
mends the support of the issue by the voters of the County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tustin, held on the 20th day of February, 1967.
