RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF
PROSPECT AVENUE BETWEEN FIRST STREET
AND FOURTH STREET, AND AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS.

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the plans and
specificatiOns presented by the City Engineer be and are
hereby approved as the plans and specifications for the
improvement of Prospect Avenue between First Street and Fourth
Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED thst the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the
receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doinE of the work
specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications, which
said advertisement shall be substsntially in the following
words'~-snd figures, to-wit;

The foregoing q.uantities are approximate only, being
o~iven as a basis for the com~arison~ of bids, and the City
of Tustin does not, expressly or by implication, agree
that the actual amount of work will correspond therewith,
but reserves the right to i~.crease or decrease the amount
of any class or ~ortion of the work, or to omit portions
of the work, ss may be deemed necessary or sdvis.able by
the Engineer.
Plans, specifications, and proposal forms to be
used for bidding on this project can only be obtsined at
the Tustin City Hall, Tustin, C~lifor~ia.
No. bid will be considered unless it is msde o~ a
blank form furnished by the City Clerk of Tustin, California,
and is made in accordance with the provisions of the
Stsndard Specifications and Special Provisions. Each
bidder must be licensed and also prequalified as required
by law.
The City of Tustin reserves the right to reject any
or all bids.
Abbreviations used in the schedmle of predetermined
wage rates in conjunction with employer payments listed
in the right hand column are identified ss follows:

Employer payments other than those itemized below, as
defined in Section 1773.1 of the Labor Code, are to be paid
in accordance with the terms of the collective bargaining
agreement applicable to the type or classification of
the workmen or mechanics employed on the project.
Overtime, Sundays, and Holidays--not less than one
and one-half (1-1/2) times the basic hourly rate ~lus
appticsble employer payments. The holidays upon whic~
such rates shall be ~aid shsll be all holidays recognized
in the collective bargaining agreeme~t applicable to the
particular craft, clsssification or type of workman employed
on the project.
Copies of all collective bargalning.a~greements
relating to the work as set forth in the aforementioned
Labor Code are on file an~ available for inspection in
th, e office of the Department of Industrial Relations,
Divisions of Labor Statistics snd ~esearch.
Attention is directed to Section ?-i.01G of the
Stand~rd Specifications providing for the employment of
apprentices on the work. Every such apprentice shall
be ~aid the standard wa~e Daid to a~prentices u~der the
regulations of the trade at which he is employed. Information
relative to employment of apprentices shall be obtained
from the Director of the Department of Industrial
Relations, who is the Administrative Off~.cer of the
C.~liforn. i~ A.pprenticeship Council.
Pursua~.t to the provisions of Section 1770 of the
Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council
of the City of Tustin has ascertained the ~eneral prevailing
rate of wa,~es and employer payments for health and welfare
and ~ension and similar ~urposes in which the work is to
