HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 757 RESOLUTION NO. 757 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF McFADDEN STREET. WHEREAS, the City of Tustln desires to improve McFadden Street from 96-' w/o Williams Street to Tustin Village Way, and WHEREAS, McFadden Street is an important artery .in the County of Orange and of .general County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction o~ repair of a street within a City,and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 65-66 a sum of money for' the improvement of streets within the incorporated, cities of the County in accordance with the Orsnge County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustln hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $12,100.00 said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of McFadden Street from 960' w/o Williams Street to Tustin Village Way, and for the acquisition of necessary rights of way;· said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on McFadden Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED 'that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 65-66.
