A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE
BEEN INITIATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED AS
WILLIAMS STREET ANNEXATION NO. 2 TO THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN:
1. Tha~, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Hninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the'
Council of the City of Tustin on its own motion, to annex to the City of
Tustin all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Orange,
State of California, hereby designated as "WILLIAMS STREET' ANNEXATION NO. 2"
and described hereinafter.
That the City Council hereby finds and determines that all of
said territory is uninhabited, within the meaning of Governmsnt Code
Section 35303, on the date of the adoption of this Resolution, and that
said territory is contiguous to the City of Tustin.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR
WILLIAMS STREET ANNEXATION NO. 2
TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the
Williams Street Annexation to the City of Tustin as per Ordinance No. 207,
said angle point being at the intersection of the. East line of Williams
Street (66 feet wide).and the South line of McFadden Street (~0 feet wide).,
said angle point also being a point on the existing City boundary of the
City of Santa Aha as per Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-~06;
Thence, leaving said Williams Street Annexation boundary and
following along said Santa Ana City boundary N.89°~0'20'' W, a distance of
990.85 feet, to the Southerly prolongation of the West line of Lot "K" of
the Stafford and Tustin Tract as per a map recorded in Book 2, pages 618
and 619, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California;
Thence, leaving said Santa Ana City boundary~ running N.
0°31'31'' E. along said Southerly prolongation, along the West line of said
Lot "K" and the Northerly prolongation thereof, a distance of 1,032~.13
feet, to the South line of that c~rtain parcel of land conveyed to
Joseph Jones as per deed recorded in Book 2~83, Page 97, Official Records
of Orange County~ California;
Thence, N. 88° 35' 15" E., along the South line o£ said Jones
property, a distance of 75.24 feet to the West line of Lot "H" of said
Stafford and Tustin Tract;
Thence, N 0°33'00'' W, along the West line of said Lot "H"

a distance of 967.10 feet, to the South line of that certain parcel
of land conveyed to George E. Meurs as per deed recorded in Book 1421,
Page 227, Official Records of Orange County, California;
Thence, N. 88°33'15'' E., along the South line of said Meurs
property and the Easterly prolongation thereof, a distance of 863.76
feet, to the East line of Williams Street (66 feet wide) said East line
also being on the existing boundary line of said Williams Street
Annexation;
Thence, following along said existing boundary, S 0°31'31'' W.,
a distance of 1,972.35 feet to the point of beginning.
2. That the City Council of the City of Tustin desires to
annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Tustin for the following
reasons: That the territory is contiguous to the City of Tustin, and its
proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth
and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed;
will provide an area for industrial development for the City of Tustin,
and will provide an. adequate and broader tax base for the City; will
facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout, design and
,
construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers
and drainage facilities, both within the City and within the territory pro-
posed to be annexed; and will provide and facilitate proper overall
planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and
said uninhabited t.erritory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of
said City and said uninhabited territory.
3. That the County Boundary Commission of Orange County,
California, did, in session duly assembled, on June 3rd, 1963, approve
the proposed annexation boundaries of the said WILLIAMS STREET ANNEXATION
NO. 2 TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN, as above described, and as submitted to said
Commission by the Council of the City of Tustin.
4. That July 22, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, in the City of Tustin, County of Orange,
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person
owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and
proposed ~to be annexed to the City of Tustin, and having any objections to
the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Tustin
~nd show cause why such uninhabited territ0ry. should not be so annexed to said
City of Tustin. Such protests must be in writing, and may be filed at any
time prior to the final adjournment of the hearing on protests, and shall
state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the
street address or other description of the property, sufficient to identify
it on the last equalized assessment roll.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Tus%in is hereby authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to.be published at least twice,
but not oftener than once a week, in The Tus%in News, a newspaper of general
circulation published in said City of Tus%in, the City to which it is pro-
posed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the Orange Daily News,
a newspaper of general circula~ion published outside the City of Tustin, but
in the County of 0range~ C~lifornia, the County in which is located the
territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Tustin, said publication
to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing.
6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to
whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last
equalized County assessment roll available on the date the above said pro-
ceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or
known to 'the Clerk~ and to any person who has filed his name and address
and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal
or equitable~ with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty
(20) 'days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
7. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed, to cause written
notice Of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors
of the County, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before
the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed~
a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire
protection district~ the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of
such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district~
such not~ce to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public
hearing upon such proposed annexation.
9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to
such other persons as may be legally entitled 'thereto, in the manner required
by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Council of the City of
Tustin, held on the 11th day of June, 1963.
