HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 629 RSSOLUTION NO. 629 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE SIGNALIZATION OF LAGUNA ROAD AND NEWPORT AVENUE WI-~REA$, the City of Tustin desires to sign,%lize the intersection of Laguna Road and N~wport Avenue; and '~WH~REAo,~ ° New~ort~ Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and Article £ and Article 5, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to espend funds apgortioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction.or re.2air of a street within a City,and ~HEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, W' appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1965-64, a sum of ~:~.~oney for 'the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds, the amount of Five Thousand Dollars (Si,000.00), said amount to be ~.aatched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the signalization of the intersection of Lag~na Road and Newport Avenue, said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project Statement; Be it fur'ther resolved that the Board of Suoervisors of the County o£ Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Laguna Road and Newport Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County intere st, Be it further resolved that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and £urther agrees that its share o£ the cost of improvements-will be availabe for the fiscal year 1963-~.
