RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE
BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
AND DESIGNATED "BRYAN-RED HILL ANNEXATION"
TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN, AND GIVING NOTICE
OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF TUSTIN:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the
Annexation of ~ninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings
have been initiated by the Council of the City of Tustin, on
its own motion, to annex to the City of Tustin all that un-
inhabited territory situate in the County o~ Orange, State of
California, hereby designated as "BRYAN RED HILL ANNEXATION"
and described as follows:
Beginning at the Westerly corner of the Northeasterly half
of Lot 17, Block 12 of Irvine's Subdivision, as shown on a
map thereof recorded in Book l, Page 88 of Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of Orange County, California, said point
also being a point on the existing city boundary line of
the City of Tustin annexed by the Eastside Annexation as
per Ordinance No. lll, passed and 'adopted by the Tustin
City Council on June 17, 1957, said point being N. 39°57'46"
E., a distance of 70.55 feet from an angle point in said
Eastside Annexation, said angle point being the inter-
section of said Northwesterly line of Irvine's Sub~.i Vi S .t on
with the intersection of the Easterly pro'lonEation of the
North line of. Main Street (80 feet wide);
Thence, N. 39°57'46" E. along said Northwesterly line of
Irvine' s Subdivision, said line also being along said East-
side Annexation boundary, a distance of 627 feet more or
less to the Northwesterly prolongation of the Southwesterly
line of Bryan Avenue (66 feet wide);
Thence, leaving said Eastside Annexation boundary, S. 50°00'40"
E. along said Northwesterly prolongation and said Southwesterly
line, a distance of 660 feet more or less to the Southwesterly
prolongation of the Northwesterly line of the Southeasterly
half of the Southwesterly half of Lot 16, Block 12 of said
Irvi~e' s Subdivision; · '
Thence, N. 39°59' 20" E. along said Southwesterly prol~ongation
and said Northwest line, a distance of 693 feet more or less
to the center of said Lot 16;
Thence, S. 50°00'40" E. along the Northeasterly line of
the Southeasterly half. of the Southwesterly half of said Lot
16, a distance of 660 feet more or less, to the Southeast
line of said Lot 16;

of 347 feet to the Southwest line of the Northeast 440 feet
of the Southeast 495 feet of the Southwest 880 feet of said

distance of 445.68 feet to a point on the Southeasterly
line of Lot 3 of Tract No. 4331, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 156, pages 7 and 8, Miscellaneous Maps
Records of Orange County, California; .
Thence, S. 39°55'03" W. along the Southeasterly line of said
Tract 4331, a distance of 400.00 feet to the Southerly corner
of Lot 8 of said Tract 4331, said corner being on a line
parallel to and 40 feet Northeasterly of as measured at
right angles to the surveyed centerline of Bryan Avenue;

of 225.29 feet to the Northeasterly prolongation of.. the South-

the most Southerly corner of said Lot ~0, said corner being
on the Northeasterly line of~Lot 31 of said Tract No. 4334;

Thence, S. 50°00'46 ~ E. along the Northeast line of said Tract
No. 4317 and the Southeasterly prolongation thereof, a distance
of 711.11 feet to the Northwest line of Lot 3 of Tract 4~18
as shown on a Map thereof recorded in Book 154, Pages 18 and
19, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
said point also being on a line parallel to and 50 feet South-
easterly of as measured at right angles to the surweyed center-

263.28 feet to the intersection of a tangent curve concave
southerly and having a radius of 27 feet, said curve being the
Northerly line of Lot 7 of said Tract No. 4418;
Thence, Northeasterly Easterly and Southeasterly along said
curve through a central angle of 90°06'01~, an arc distance
of 42.46 feet to the intersection of a tangent line parallel
to and 40 feet Southwesterly of as measured at right angles to
the surveyed centerline of Bryan Avenue;

1903.2 feet more or less to the Southwesterly prolongation of

Drive (60' wide) said Northwest line also being on the South-

Northeasterly half, a distance of 1320 feet more or less,
to the point of beginning.
2. That the Council of the City .of Tustin desires
to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Tustin for the
following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of
Tustin, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facili-
tate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the
territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute
to the proper and orderly layout, design and cons~ruction of
streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers
and drainage facilities, both wit~hin the City and within the
territory proposed to be annexed; and will 'provide and facili-
rate proper overall planning and zoning of lands, and sub-
divl:sions of lands in said ¢.'ity and said uninhabited terr'ltory,
in a manner most conducive to the welfare o'f said ~City and said
uninhabited territory,
~ 3. That if said territory is annexed, it shall
become part~ of the Tustin School Dist~rict. '
4. That the County Boundary Commission of
Orange County, California, did, in session duly assembled
on March 26th, 1962, approve ghe proposed annoxati~on bounda~ie~
of said "BRYAN'- RED HILL ANNEXATION'
, as above described.

within the uninhabited territory abov~e desc'ribed and proposed
to be annexed to the City of Tustin, and having any objections
to the' proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of
the City of Tustin, and show cause why such' uninh~bited terri-
tory should not be so annexed to sa~id City of Tustin. Such
protest must be in writing, may be filed at' any time before the
hour set for hearing iobjectoions to the propose~d annexation, and
shall state the name or names of the ~owner Or owners .of property
affected, and the description and area of such prop'erty, in
general terms.
6. The City Clerk of the ~City of Tustin is
hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolu-
t ion to be published at least twice, but not of~tener than once
a week, in the Tustin News, a newspaper of general circulation
published in said City of Tustin, the City to which it is pro-
posed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the Orange
Daily News, Orange, California, a newspaper of general circulatlon
published outside the City of Tustin, but in the County of Orange,
California, the county in which is located the territory proposed
~o be annexed to the City of Tustin, said publication to be com-
~plete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for h~aring.
7.~ The City Clerk is further authorized and
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory
proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county
assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings
were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll
or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name
and address and the designation of the~lands in which he has
an~ interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such
notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the
first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
8. In the event any land within the territory
proposed to Be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk
is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the County, such
notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the
first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
9. In the event there is, upon the land pro-
posed to be annexed, a structural improvement owned, being
acquired or leased by a county fire protection district, the
said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such pro-
posed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such
district, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days
before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation.
10. The City Clerk is directed to cause
written notice to be given to Such other per. sons as may be
legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular adjourned meeting of
the C.ity Council of the City of Tustin, held on the 26thday of
March, 1962.
