HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 506RESOLUTION NO. 506 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF TUSTIN ON THE 12TH DAY OF APRIL, 1960, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Tustin, County of Orange, State of California, on Tuesday, the 12th day of April 1960, as required by law; and WHEREAS, nptice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that elect ion officers were appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted, and the votes cast therat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required ~y the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in general law cities; and WHEREAS, on the 19th day of April, 1960, at the hour of ?'30 P. M. , the City Council duly assembled at its usual place of meeting and hs.s canvassed the returns of said election and as a result of which, the City Council finds the number of votes cast and the names of the persons voted, for, the office each person was voted for, and other matters required by law to be as stated hereinafter; NOW, THEREFOR'E, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS' SECTION 1. That there was one voting precint established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the regular election precints in the City of Tustin. as established for the holding of state and county elections. 212 SECTION 2. That said regular general municipal election was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by the laws relating to general law cities in the State of California~ to wit' Members of the City Council of. said City for the full term of four years A City Clerk of said City four the full term of four years; SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City~ except absent rotifer ballots, was 512. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 15 making a total of 527 votes cast in said City. SECTION 4. That the names of persons voted for at said election for Member of the City Council , of said C. ity are 'gs follows' Frank E. Bacon, Jr. Vincent L. Humeston Wintford L. Tadlock Claude Thaxton Gilbreath Gerald C. Mack Myrl J. Sheridan That the names of the persons voted for at said election for City Clerk of said. City are as follows' Ruth C. Humeston , _ ,~, . _ ~ - was elected as Member of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years; Gerald C. Mack was elected as Member o.C' the City Council Of said City for the full term of four years; Myrl ,J.....Sh. er.idan.,~ ...... was elected as Member of the City Council of said City for the full term of 'four years; Ruth~,q..,.Po.e .......... was elected City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years. SECTION 6; The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing' The whole number of V.,otes cast in the city; (2) The names of the persons voted for; (3) That no measures were voted upon; For what office each person was voted for. 214 SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and, upon compliance by the persons elected with the provisions of Section ~533 and Section ~536 of the Elections Code of the State of California, shall deliver 'to each of such persons e~ected a certificate of election signed by him and duly authenticated; that he shall also administer to each person elected the oath of office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California and shall have them sub- scribe thereto and file the same in his office. He shall also require from each of such respectSve persons so elected the required loyalty oath and file the same in his office. Whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected shall be inducted into the respe¢- t ive office to which they have been elected. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage a'nd adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in 'the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
