A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL
ANNEXATION ELECTION, AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE
FOR PROTESTS BY PROPERTY OWNERS.
· BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Tustin'
Seation 1. That it is the intention of the
City Council of the City of Tustin to call a special
election to be held in certain inhabited territory
contiguous to said City, proposed to be annexed thereto,
for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors
Fesiding in said. territory the question whether or not
said territory shall be annexed to the City of Tustin,
Said territory is located in the County of
Orange State of Ca]..ifornia, and is described as follows'
Beginning at a point in the east line of :
Tustin Avenue, 66 feet wide, formerly known as "Newport
Co Road" as shown on a map of Stafford. and Tustin
Tract, recorded in Book 2, page 618, Miscellaneous
Records of Los Angeles County, California - with the
So~th line of the "Ira L. Marchant Annexation No. 2" to
the City of Tustin, as per Ordinance No. 12~ on June 1,
1959.
Thence southerly along the east line of said
Tustin Avenue 905.51 feet a little more or less to
the northwest corner of the southwest onequarter of
Lot "M" of said Stafford and Tustin Tract.
Thence easterly along the north line of said
southwest one qua'~"ter, 358.6 feet. Thence southerly
parallel to the center line of Tustin Avenue; 580.54 feet
more or less to the south line of McFadden Street -
40.00 feet wide.
Thence easterly along the south line of said
McFadden Street ~11.80 feet more or less to the west
line of pa~.cel~.':Conv, eyed to Charles A.. Patton by deed
recorded in Book 2113, page 255, Official ~tecords of
Orange County.. Thence southerly parallel to Tustin
Avenue 805.00 feet to the southwest corner of said
Charles A. Patton parcel.
Thence easterly,~ parallel to McFadden Street
76.52 feet more or less to angle point in parcel No. 2
as described in i~strument~, recorded in Book 2832 on
· page 150 Official Records of Orange County, California.

Thence south 51 East along said property
lin.~ ~67.70 feet to northwesterly line of Newport
Avenue 60 feet wide. Thence southwesterly along said
northwesterly line of Newport Avenue 1~0.~6 feet
more or less to a point 310 feet northeasterly,
maasured at right angles f?om the center line of the
Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad right of way.
Thence southeasterly, parallel to said railroad
center line - 1350.00 feet more or less to~ the south-
easterly line of Lot 6~, Block 11, as shown On a map
of "Irvine's Subdivision" recorded in Miscellaneous
Records Maps, Book 1, page 88, Orange County.
Thence southwest, along said lot ,line 210
feet to a point 100 feet northeasterly measured at
right angles, from said rai,lroad center line.
Thence northwesterly, parallel to said right
of way center line, 1290.00 feet more .or less to the
southeasterly line of said Newport Avenue, 60.00 feet wide.
Thence southwesterly along said Newport
Avenue 75.00 feet to a point 25.00 feet from said rail-
.r.~ad cent er 1 ine.
Thence northwesterly parallel to and 25 feet
northeasterly measured at right angles from said rail-
road center line, to the west line of Tustin Avenue 50
feet in width, also b~ing an angle point in the
boundary line of the City of Santa Ana.
Thence northerly along the westerly line of
Tustin Avenue, also being th~ easterly boundary line of
the City of Santa Ana, 1461.~1 feet to a point in the
w~sterly prolongation of the south line of parcel of
land conveyed to William S. Hatch by deed recorded 'in
Book 1816, page 134, Official Records of Orange County.
Thence east, parallel to McFadden Street
579.40 feet to southeast corner of said William S.
Hatch parcel.
Thence north parallel to Tustin Avenue 427.4 feet.
Thence west along the property line and the
westerly extension thereof, 579.40 feet to the west line
o£ Tustin Avenue.
Thence north along the west line of Tustin
Avenue 377.6 feet to the south lithe of McFadden Street -
feet wide, also .~being an angle point in the boundary
line of the City of Santa Ana.
o Thence west along the ~south line of McFadden
Street 713.90 feet.
Thence north parallel to the center line of
Tustin ~venue 469.00 feet.
Thence west a~long the property line 5.32 feet
to a point 710.32 feet west ~of the~ east line of Lot "L"
of sai~ Stafford and Tustin Tract.

Thence easterly along the .property line 50.32
feet to the southwest corner of Lot "N" of said Stafford.
and Tustin Tract.
Thence northerly along said lot line 750.42
feet to the northwest corner of said Lot "N'~.
Thence easterly along lot line 450.00 feet to
a point 210 feet westerly (measured at right angles)
from the east line of said lot '~'F" of said Stafford
and Tustin Tract.
Thence northerly parallel to and 210 feet
westerly (measured at right angles) from said east line
of said Lot "F", and its northerly prolongation, 1400
feet more or less to the north line of Main Street,
80 feet wide as shown on said Stafford and TUstin Tract.
Thence easterly along said north line of
Main Street and its easterly prolongation 243 feet~
to the center lineo6f Tustin Avenue, being a point
in the westerly boundary line of the City of Tustin.
Thence following along the said City of
Tustin boundary line, the following courses' Southerlt,
easterly, southerly, westerly, southerly and easterly
66 feet to the point of beginning.
Section 2_' That said territory hereby is
designated and identified as "South Tustin Avenue
Annexat i on".
Secti. on..~_3' That said City Council does find
and determine that on the 18th day of February, 1960,
the City Council did receive a petition signed by not
less than one-quarter of the qualified electors
residing within the territory hereinabove described,
as shown by the County Registration of Voters, contain-
lng a description of the new territory proposed to be
annexed to the City of Tustin and asking that said
territory be annexed to the City; and the City Council
does find and determine that said proponents have done
and performed the acts and things requi~ed to be done
and performed by the Annexation Act of 1913,
at t~he time and in the manner as required by the
provisions of said Act; and that said petition was
c irculate~ more than twenty-one (21) days after the
publication of notice of intention to circulate such
petition, and that it is si. gned by not less than one-
fourth (~) of the qualified electors ~residing within
the territory proposed to be annexed, as shown by the
County Registration of Voters, and as appears from
the certificate of the City Clerk of ~he City of Tustin
prasented to the City Council at the time of consid-
· ~ eration of said petition and prior to the adoption of
this Resolution; and does further find that more than
twelve (12) qualified electors resided within the
boundaries of the ~territory proposed to be annexed at
the time of the filing of said petition for said annex-
ation; and does further find, from evidence and reports
received and from said petition, ~that at the time of
the filing and presentatdon of said petition that said
new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of
Tustin did not form a part of any 0'ther city or municipal
corporation, and that said territory was, at the time
of the filing of said petition, inhabited ~territory
and is contiguous to the City of T~stin.
Section 4' NOTIC'E IS HEREBY GIVEN that the
28th day of March, 1960, at the hour of 8'00 P.M. in
the council chambers of the City Hall in the City of
T~stin, located at 145 West Third. Street, be, and the
same is ~hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when
and where any person owning real property within the
territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
· objections to the proposed annexation may appear before
the City Council of the City of Tustin and show cause
why such territory should, not be so annexed; that all.
persons ha. ving any objections to such proposed
annexation are hereby notified to appear on said date,
at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have
why such territory should not be so annexed, and all such
persons are further notified that any protests against
the calling of an election to submit to the electors
residing within said territory the question of annex-
ation of said territory to the City of Tustin, or any
protests against the annexation of said territory to the
City of Tustin must be in writing and may be filed with
the City Clerk of the City of Tustin at any time not
later than the hour and date set forth herein for the hearing
of objections to said election.
Section i~' The City Clerk of the City of Tustin

is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this
resolution to be published at least once a week for two
weeks prior to the date hereinabove fixed for the hearing
of protests and objections to said election and the annex-
ation of said territory to the City of Tustin in the Tustin
News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Tustin, County
of Orange, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of'.:.'Tustin at a regular adjourned meeting thereof,
held on the 18th day of February, 1960.
