SUBJECT: INTERVIEW AND APPOINT MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING AND
COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSIONS
SUMMARY:
The City Council will conduct interviews and appoint three (3) members to the Planning
Commission and three (3) members to the Community Services Commission. Said
commissioners selected will serve until March 1, 2011 or until their respective successor
are appointed and qualified.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Interview candidates; and
2. Cast ballots to determine appointments to the Planning Commission and
Community Services Commissions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
BACKGROUND:

On January 20, 2009, the City Council set February 17 at 4:30 p.m. to conduct
interviews to fill the vacancies on the Planning Commission and Community Services
Commission.
Planning Commission – three (3) vacancies, for terms expiring March 1, 2011.
Incumbents Al Murray, Steve Kozak, and Marge Kasalek are eligible for reappointment
and have submitted their application for your review and consideration. All of the
applicants meet the qualification of being registered voters in the City:

Following the oral interview, the final step in the selection process is the completion of
