A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE AMENDMENT OF
BUILDING LINE SETBACK REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPERTY
FRONTING ON FIRST STREET IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN.
WHEREAS, the Orange County Master Plan of Highways
indicates that First Street, in County territory, is eventually to
be 100 feet in width; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to have that portion
of First Street that lies within the City of Tustin the same width
as that portion of First Street lying within the County of Orange
and City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, there are, at the present time, only a small
number of parcels of property on which Ouildings extend into the
proposed future right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, public necessity, convenience, general welfare
an~ good zoning practice require that proceedings be initiated, at
this time, to amend the building line setbac~ requirements to
provide i'or the i'uture and eventual widening oi' First Street,
NOW, '±'HEHEFOHE, be it resolved that the City Council
of the City oi' Tustin does declare its intention to commence proceed-
ings on its own motion to amend the building line setbacE require-
ments pursuant to Ordinance No. 71 of the City of Tustin, as
amended, as follows:
The building,line setback requirements on the North
side of First Street to be 50.00 feet Northerly, measured at
right angles from the surveyed center line of First Street and
extending from the Westerly city limits of Tustin, Easterly to
the Northwesterly line of Irvine's Subdivision, being the South-
easterly City limits of Tustin; excepting therefrom any portions
thereof in County territory.

side of First Street to be 50.00 feet Southerly, measured at right
angles from the surveyed center line of First Street from the East
line of Tustin Avenue, as it now exists, Southerly from First Street,
extending Easterly to the Northwesterly line of Irvine's Sub-

division, being the Southesasterly City limits of Tustin.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution
be transmitted to the Planning Commission of the City of
Tustin and that said Planning Commission give due notice of
public hearing to consider amending said building line setback
requirements all in accordance with Ordinance No. ?l of the
City of TuStin, as amended.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Tustin, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 20th day of April, 1959.
