A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN URGING PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 64
RELATING TO THE OFFENSE OF SALE AND OTHER DISPOSITION
OF CRIME COMIC BOOKS.
WHEREAS, the Council is informed that Assembly Bill No. 64
is intended t'o control or prohibit the sale and distribution of
crime comic books to minors; and
~¥HEREAS, this Council is firmly convinced that statewtde
control of this oroblem whi~ch has enveloped a major part of the
United States, is necessary in order to combat the evil influence
which is available to our children on many bookstands in most
every city,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Tustin, a~ follows:
1. The Legislature of the State of California is hereby
urged and requested to pass proper legislation to prohibit or
control the sale of all literature within the State portraying
and sensationalizing horror, sex, depravity', crime, obscenity and
licentiousness, particularly where it comes into the hands of
children.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward copies of
this resolution to our representatives in the Legislature and to
the Legislative Counsel.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tustin held on March 11, 1957.
