HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 382RESOLUTION NO. 382 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX TERRITORY PURSUANT TO ANNEXATION OF UNINHABITED TERRI- TORY ACT OF 1939, DESCRIBING THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED, DESIGNATING THE NAME OF THE ANNEX- ATION AND SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR- ING PROTESTS THERETO. The City Council of the City of Tustin does resolve as follows: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Tu~tin, on i t~ own motion, doe~ intend to mmex, pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, that con- tiguous territory described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center line of Main S.treet, distant thereon forty-four feet (~') Easterly from the intersection of the center line of Glen Avenue (66.00 feet wide) (also known as Tustin Avenue), said intersec- tion being .an angle point in the City boundary; thence following along the Southerly and West- erly boundry lines of the City of Tustin the following courses as described in o~iginal boundry description; thence, Easterly along the said cente~ line of Main Street to an in- te~section with the Northerly prolongation of the Westerly line of Block "V" of the Stafford and Tustin Tract, as shown on a map thereof, recorded in Book 2, pages 618 and619, Miscel- laneous Records of Los Angeles County, Calif- ornia; thence, Southerly, along the said West- erly line of Block "V" and the prolongation thereof, to an intersection with the center line of that certain public highway, commonly known as Sixth Street, (shown as Sycamore St~®et on the said Map of the Stafford and Tustin Tract); thence, Easterly, along the said cente~ line of Sixth Street to an inter- Section with the center line of "B" Street, as shown on a Map. of a part of Tustin City, recorded in Book 4, pages 218 and '219, Mis- cellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence, Southerly, along the said center line of "B" Street to an intersection with the Westerly prolongation of the North line of Traot No. 541, recorded in Book 26, page 14, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence Easterly, along said prolongation and said North line to th® Northeast corner of said Tract No. 5~1, said .oint being in the West right of way line of D" Street of the Town of Tustin; thence Southerly along said West line of "D" Street ~9.73 feet to an intersection with the Southerly right of way line of the Santa Aha .. F~eeway- "VII -Ora- 2-C Tus. as established by the Division of Highways in December, 1952; thence following along said right of way line the following cOumses and distances: North 65° 59'00" West 73~.87feet; thence North 60° 00' 52" West 76.33 feet; thence North 67° 32' 3~" West along a line drawn pamallel to dis- tent 70.00 feet Southwesterly ~easured at right angles from the surveyed center' line of said State Highway, 1301.06 feet, to the East .line of that certain property conveyed by James A. McCalla and Ida McCalla, hdsband and wife, to the State of California by deed recorded in Book 2515, page 128, Official Records of Orange County, California; thence South 0° 13' 15" East along the East line. of above mentioned James A. McCalla, et ux, p~operty 10.83 feet to a point 80.00 feet Southwesterly measured at right angles f~om the surveyed center line of said State Highway; thence No~th 67° 32' 34" West along a line drawn parallelto distant 80.00 feet Southwesterly, measured at right angles from the surveyed center line .of said State Highway, a distance of 364.07 feet, to a point; thence North 71° 03' 14" West 714.76 feet to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and distant ~.00 feet Easterly, measured at right angles from the center line of Tustin Avenue (formerly Newport Road) as shown on a map of the Stafford and Tustin Tract, recorded in Book. 2, page 618, of Miscellaneous Records of Los .Angeles County, California; thence North 0o 04' 55" West along said parallel line, a distance of 666.72 feet to the center line of Main Street and the point of beginning, Section 2. That the reason the City' Council of the City of Tustin desires to annex said territory is to increase the size of the City, to establish a more regular and uniform boundry, and to establish city control' over zoning, traffic and related matters affecting the City of Tustin on property within the sphere of influence of said City of Tustin. -Section 3. That said proposed annexation shall be known and designated as "GRISET'S ANNEXATION TO TUSTIN". Section ~. The City Council 'of the City of Tustin will hear protests made by persons .owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed on April 9, 1956, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, 1~5 West Third Street, Tustin, California. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin at a regular meeting held on the 27th day of Feb- ruary, 1956. ATTEST: Mayor .
