HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 353RESOLUTION NO. 353 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN URGING THE DIRECTORS OF COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 7 OF ORANGE COUNTY TO CALL A SPECIAL BOND ELECTION TO FINANCE SEWER CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, the Directors of County Sanitation District No. 7 of Orange County have the duty to care for the sewage disposal requirements of County Sanitation District No. 7; and WHEREAS, in furtherance of this duty said Directors have caused an engineering report(to be made pursuant to Sec- tion ~748 of the Health and Safety Code or'the State of~ Calif- ornia; and WHEREAS, the City of Tustin is contained in said County Sanitation District No. 7 and is vitally interested in said problem and urgently needs trunk sewer facilities; and WHEREAS, it appea~s that the only action to be taken by said Directors is to approve or disapprove said engineer- ing report and to 'submit said matter at an election wherein the voters can express their views; and WHEREAS,. it appears that the moneys expended to date on this proposal will be wasted if no bond election is called; and WHEREAS, it is customary to decide such issues by public election, once the need for such facilities is deter- mined: NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin does resolve as follows: That it is the sense and opinion of the City Council of the City of Tustin that the Directors of County Sanitation District No. 7 of Orange County should call a special bond election at .the earliest practicable date to submit to the voters the proposal to provide trunk sewer facilities for County Sanitation District No. 7 of Orange County in accordance with the engineers' report submitted on January 13, 1954. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 27:5 22nd day of March, 1954. ATTEST: STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) ss.
