HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 352 RESOLUTION NO. 352 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR APRIL 13, 1954, CONSOLIDATING VOTING PRE- CINCTS, NAMING ELECTION OFFICERS AND THEIR SALARIES FOR SAID ELECTION. The City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the laws of the State of California relating to the municipalities of the Sixth Class provide for the hold- lng of a General Election in said City on the second Tuesday in April of every even-numbered year', and further Provide that the City Council may, for the purpose of said election, consolidate and designate voting precincts and designate election officers for said election, and this being such an even numbered year, BE IT RESOLVED: That a regular General Municipal Election be held in the City of Tustin, California, on Tuesday, the 13th day of April, 19~4, for the pm'pose of electing such officers as are required by law to be elected, to wit: Two (2) City Councilmen for the full term of four (4) yea~s each. That there shall be one consolidated election and voting precinct for the purpose of holding said election, con- sisting of a consolidation of the three regular election pre- cincts in said City established for holding State and Co.unty elections, to wit: Tustin Number 1, Tustin Number 2 and Tustin Number 3, which said consolidated precincts shall be known as "Precinct A", and the boundry lines of said consolidated pre- cinct shall be the present existing boundry lines of the City of Tustin, Orange County, California. That the polling place of said "P..recinct A" shall bo at; the Cit7 Hall of the City of Tustin, 145 West Third Street in said City, and the polls shall be open between the hours of 7:00 o'clock A. M. and 7:00 o'clock P. M. of said day. That such election be held in accordance with the general election laws of the State of California insofar as the same shall have been made applicable to municipalities of the Sixth Class. That the following persons, residents and qualified electors in the said City. ef Tustin are her. eby designated and appointed to act as the election officers at said election, to wit: Inspector: Hilda R. Riehl Judge: Grace Leinberger Clerk: Margaret Goetting Clerk: Vera Comer and the s~laries of said election officers for the purpose of said election are hereby fixed as follows: Inspector: $12.00 per daY. That the City Clerk of the City of Tustin is hereby directed and required to give Notice of said election as re- quired by law, by the publication of Noticeof Election con- ~aining a statement of the time of the election, the offices to be filled thereat, and specifying the term thereof, and a general description of the voting precinct and the location of the polling place, net earlier than the sixtieth (60th) day nor later tha~~' the thirty-first (31st) day before such elec- tion, by publication in a newspaper of general circulation, to wit: The Tustin News, published and circulated in the City of Tusti~, ~d that ~aid Notioe shall be publi~hod at least once. in said newspaper.
