HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 327· RESOLUTION NO. 327 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN DECLARING RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON DECEMBER 16, 1952 WHEREAS, a special municipal election'was held and conducted in the City of Tustin, California, on Tuesday, the 16th day of December, 1952, for the purpose of electing che city councilm~ to fill a vao~oy on the City Council caused by the recall of a councilman wherein the voters designated that said council seat was to be filled by special election, all as required by law; and WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly and legally given; that voting precincts were prop- erly established; that election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished; and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat re- ceived and canvassed, and the returns thereof made and de- clawed, in time, fox~a and manner as ~equired by the general laws of the State of California, governing special elections in cities of the sixth class; and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Tustin met at the City Council Chambers in the City of Tustin on Tuesday, the 23rd day of December, 1952, to canvass the re- tu.~ns of saicl, election, as a result of whioh the saicl. City Council finds the number of votes cast, the names of the per- sons voted for, and other matters required by law, to be as ~ereinafter stated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: That said special municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Tustin' California, on Tuesday, the 16th day of December, 1952, in the time, form and manner as re quired by law; That .there was one voting precinct established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consoli- clarion of the regular election precincts established for hold- ing general State and County elections as follows: Precinct "A", comprising State and C~Unty Precincts 23O Numbers Tustin City No. 1 and Tustin City No. 2; That the whole number of votes cast in said election was Two hundred and thirteen (213); That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted, the number of votes given in each precinct to each person, together with the whole number of votes which they received in the entire special election are as follows: Names of Persons Voted For Office Voted For Total Vote Jerome Kidd Counc i lman 21 0 George Gren~ood Councilman 1 J. Roy Toter .... iai i ! Ill i i Councilman 2 That Jerome Kidd received thehighest number of votes for the position to be filled on the City Council for the re- mainder of the term of J. Roy Teter, Councilman recalled, whi ch term continues until the time of the General Municipal Election in April, 195~, and that he should be and he is hereby declared elected to the City Council to fill said unexpired term.
