HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 307RESOLUTION NO. 307 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING PROSPECT AVENUE TO BE ADDED TO THE SYSTEM OF MAJOR CITY STREETS AND REMOVING PORTIONS OF "A" STREET, PACIFIC STREET, SECOND STREET AND THIRD STREET FROM THE SYSTEM OF MAJOR CITY STREETS, AND REQUESTING APPROVAL THEREOF BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS, STATE OF CALIFORNIA. WHEREFORE, unde~ the temms and pmovtsions of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California (Sections 2050- 2055 inclusive) it is the duty of the City Council of the City of Tustin to select those streets to form a part of a system of major city streets on the basis of the greatest general city importance, and to remove certain streets f~om the system of major city streets when they are no longer of sufficient general city importance, subject to the approval of the Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, State of California, for the purpose of allocation ~thereto and expenditure thereon of the HighwayUser's Tax for use in accordance with the provisions of Sections 19~ to 202 inclusive of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. NOW THEREFORE BE IT'~RESOLVED: Section 1. That the City Council of-the City of Tus- tin does hereby determine, select and designate Prospect Avenue from Main Street north to the Northerly limits of the City of Tustin, said street being 000.397 miles in length, as a major city street to be added to the system of major city streets of the City of Tustin. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Tus- tin does hereby determine that the following streets are no longe~of sufficient general city importance to be classed as major city streets in the system of major city streets: Street~ ,from the Southerly limits of First Street to the Northerly limits of Main Street, being 000.23 miles in length, designated as a major city street by Resolution No. 179. Pacific Street from the Southerly limits of First Street to the Northerly limits of Main Street, being 000.23 miles in length, designated as a major city street by Resolution No. Second Street f~om the East line of Pacific Street to the West line of "B" Street, and Second Street from the East line of "C" Street to the West line of "D" Street, 60 feet wide, being 000~25 miles in length, designated as a major city street by Re- solution No. 205. Third Street from the center line of .Myrtle Street to the West line of "D" St;Peet (U. S. Highway No. 101) being 000..:37 miles in length, designated as a major city street by Resolution No. 20~. Section 3. The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby requemt the approval of the Department of Public Works, Division of Highw~Ts, State of' California, to ~pp~ove the above designation of Prospect Avenue as a major city street and the removal of those portions of "A" Street, Pacific Street, Second Street and Third Street from the system of major city streets in the City of Tustin, California. Section 4. It is the intent and purpose of the City CoUncil of the City 'of Tustin to use part of the net proceeds of the Highway User' s Tax Fund, under the provisions of Sections 1914. to 202 inclusive of the Streets m't~ Highways Code of g he State of California, on said major city streets designated and approved by the Department of Public Works, Division of High, ways, State of California.
