A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN DECLARING RESULTS OF THE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 8, 1952
WHEREAS, a general municipal' election was held' and.
conducted in the City of Tustin, California, on Tuesday, the
8th day of April, 19~2, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was
duly and legally given; that voting precincts were properly
establish®d; that election officers were appointed and elec-
tion supplies furnished; and that in all respects said elco-
ti on was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat re-

ceived and canvassed, and the returns thereof made and de-
clared, in time, form and manner as required by the general
laws of the State of California, governing elections in cities
of the Sixth Class; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tustin met
at the City Council Chambers in the City of Tustin on Tuesday,
the 15th day of April, 1952, to canvass the returns of said
election and install the newly elected officers, as a result
of which the said City Council finds the number of votes cast,
the names of 'the persons voted for, and other matters required
by law, to be as hereinafter stated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:.
That said general municipal election was held and con-
ducted in the CitY of Tustin, California, on Tuesday, the 8th
day of April, 1952, in the time, fo~m and manner as required
by law;
That there was one voting p~ecinct estahlished for
the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consoli-
dation of the regula~ election precincts established for hold-
ing general State and County elections as follows:
Precinct "A", comprising State and County Precincts
Numbers Tustin City No. 1 and Tustin City No. 2;
That the whole number of votes cast in said election
was two hundred and thirty-five (235);
That the names of the persons voted for, the offices

for which they were voted, the number of votes given in each
precinct to each person, together with'the whole number of
votes which they ~eceived in the entire City Election .are as
follows:

That Wm. I. Miller, Frank Bacon, Jr. and William H."
"Bill" Gray received the highest votes, respectively, for the
three positions to be filled on the City Council for the full
term of four (4) years, and that they should be and they are
hereby declared elected to the City Council of the City of Tus-
tin for the full term of four (4) years.
That Samuel C. Penington received the highest number
of votes for the position of City Clerk for the full term of
four (4) years and that he should be and he is hereby declared
elected to the position of City Clerk of the City of Tustin for
the full term of fou~ (4) years.
That the measure voted upon was "Shall the City Coun-.
cil hereafter appoint the City Clerk of the City of Tustin?";
that there were 56 votes cast for said measure and 155 votes
against the measure. That the measure did not receive an af-
firmative vote and it is hereby declared that said measure was
defeated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that at said general municipal"
election that Wm. I. Miller, Frank Bacon, Jr. and William H.

"Bill" G~ay were each elected to the office of City Councilman
of the City of Tustin for the full term ,of four (4) years each
respectively.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that at said general munici-
pal election that Samuel C. Penington was elected to the office
of City Clerk of the City of Tustin for the full term of four
(4) years.
ALSO, the measure voted up,n at said election was
passed and that the office of City Clerk of the. City. of Tustin
is and shall remain an elective office~
PASSED AND ADOPTED by' the City Council at a meeting
thereof designated by law held on the 15th day ef April, 1952.
