RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
ALTERATION AND ADDITION TO THE FIRE HOUSE
TO ACCOMMODATE CITY OFFICES AND LIBRARY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN:
That the City Clerk is hereby authori.zed and directed
to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids

library in the City of Tustin, California.
Bids must be made on a form provided for the purpose

Notice is hereby given bidders that in accordance
with 6he provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City

Overtime - one and one-half (1~). times the above rates.
Sundays and. holidays (except watchmen, guards and .flag-
men) one and: one-half (linA) times the above rates.
The f~Oregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon
a working ~ay of eight .(8)' hours, and in the event that laborers,
work,an or mechanics are emploYed less ~han eight (8) hours per
day,. the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that frac-
ti on of the foregoing rates that the number of hours or employment
bears to eight (8).
In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of
the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statues of 1939, and in
accordance with the regulations of the California Apprenticeship
Council, properly indentured apprentices ~ay be employed in the
prosecution of the work.
The.bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory
check certified'by a responsible bank and payable to the order of
the City of 'Tustin, or a bidder, s bond, for an amount not less
than ten ('10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, .as a'
guarantee that the bidder'will :enter into the proposed contract
if the.."same is awarded to him, and in event of failure to enter
into such .contract said check or bond shall become' the property.~
of the C.ity.
The amount of the bond to be given to secure a faith~
ful performance of ~the 'contract for said work shall be fifty (50)
per cent of the contract price thereof, and an additional bond
in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price
for said work shall be given to secure the payment of claims for
any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the
work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or
labor of any kind done thereon and the Contractor will also be
required to furnish a certificate that he carries compensation
insurance covering his employees upon work t.o be done under, con-
tract which may be entered into between him and the said City
for the construction of satd work'.
NO bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not
licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's
License Act, or to whom a proposal form has not been issued by
the City Clerk.

The work is to be done in accordance.with the profiles,
plans-and specifications of the City of Tustin on file in the
office of the City~ Clerk in the City Hall of Tustin, California,.
Cop~es of the plans and specifications will be furnished upon
application 'to. the City Clerk for which a deposit of $10.00.
dollars will be required. The .deposit will be .refunded'on.corn- -
pliance with the conditions given in the instructions to bidde~.s.
The City Council of the City of Tustin reserves the
right to reject any and all bids.

California, for .each craft or· type of. workman needed to execute
the ~work hereinabove specified is as ~set forth in the form of '
notice hereinabove set forth, and said notice shall contain said
schedule of per dien wages to be paid to the workmen ir~ said
work.
PASSED AND ADOPTED' by the City Council of the City of
Tustin, California, this 13th.day of September, 1949.

9 Plans and Specifications adopted the 13th day of September, 1949,
10 by this City Council for the alteration of and addition to the
11 Tustin Fire House to accommodate city offices and library, which
12 said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words
