HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 168RESOLUTION NO. 168 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THEY CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION. WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held', and. con- .ducted in the City of Tustin, California, on Tuesday, the 9th day of April, 19~6, as reGuired by law, and .: WI-IE~AS, it appears that notice of said eleotion was duly and legally given, that voting precincts were properly established, that election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and can- vassed, and the returns thereof made and delcared, in time, form and manner as required by the general laws of the State of Calif- ornia governing elections in cities of the sixth class, and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Tustin, met at the City Council Chamber in the City of Tusttn on Tuesday, the 16th~ day of April, 191-1-6, to canvass the return~ Of said election and install the newly elected officers, as a result of which the said City Council finds the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: That said general municipal election was held and con- ducted in the City of Tustin, California, on Tuesday, the 9th day of April, 19~6, in the time, form and manner as required by law. That there was one voting ~ ecinct established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consolidation of the regular election precincts established for holding general State and County elections as follows: Consolidated Voting Precinct "A", comprising State and · County Precincts Numbers Tustin City No. I and Tustin City No. 2; That the whole number of votes cast in said election 383' That the names of' the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted, ~the number of votes given in each precinct to each person, together with the whole number of votes which they received in the entire City Election are as follows: Names of Consolidated Absent Persons Voted Office Voting Precinct ~oters Total l~qr ....... _ .... _ .~,qt...e.d :For. ____',.A,'_ _ _ ..... CHARLETON, received the highest votes, respectively, for the three positions to be filled on the City Council for the full term of four ($) years, and that they should be and they are 'hereby declared elected to the City Council of the City of Tustin for the full te~m of four (~) years. That ARTHUR 0. PARK received the highest number of votes f, or' the position of City Councilman for the short term of two (2) years, and that he should be and he is hereby de- clared elected to the Ctty'Oouncll of the City of Tustin for the short term of two (2) years. That IDUS H. HARPER received the highest number of 'votes cast for the office of City Treasurer for the short term of two (2) years and that '-he should be and is hereby declared elected to the office of City Treasurer for the short te~m of two (2) years. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, thsr...sfore, that at said gen- eral municipal election VINCENT L. HUNESTON was elected to the office of City Councilman of the City of Tustin 'for the 'full term of four ($) years. ALSO, that 0. LEE'~AOOBS ~VAS elected to the office o£ City Councilman of the City of Tustin for the full term. of four (~) years$ ALSO, that ARTHUR M. CHARLETON was elected to the office of City Councilman of the City of Tustin for the full term of four ([~) yeare; ALSO, that ARTHUR 0. PARK was elected to the office of City Councilman of the City of Tustin fo~ the short t erin of two (2) years; ALSO, that IDUS H. HARPER was elected to the office o£ City Treasurer of the City of Tustin for the short term of two years, (2). 385 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, at a regularly adjourned meeting thereof held on the 16th day of April, 1946.
