HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 107RESOLUTION NO. 107 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION. WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Tustin, County of Orange, State of California, on Tuesday, the 10th day of June, 1941, as required by. law, and. WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said elect- ion was duly and legally given; that voting precincts were properly established, that election officers were appointed and election fupplies furnished, asd that in all respects said election was held and conducted, and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and the re- turns thereof made and declared in time, form. and manner as required by the General Laws of the State governing elections in cities of the simth class, and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Tustin met at the City Council Ohamber of the City Tustin, on Monday, the 16th day of June, 1941, to canvass the re- turns of said special election and install the newly elected officer, as a result of which the said City Council finds that: the number of votes cast, the names of the per- sons voted for, and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: That said Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Tustin on Tuesday, the 10th day of June, 1941, in time, form and manner as required by law; That there was one voting precinct established for the purpose of holding said Special Election, consisting of a consolidation of the regular election precincts establi- shed for holding General State and County Elections as follows: Consolidated Voting Precinct "A", comprising State and County Precincts Numbers Tustin City No. I and Tustin City No. 2. That the whole number of votes cast in said elec- tion was That the names of the Persons voted for, the offic- es for which they were voted, the number of votes given in each precinct to each person, together with the whole hum- bet of votes which they received in the entire City Elec- tion, are as follows: VOTES REOEIVED Names of .... LYLE FORNEY received the highest number of votes for the .position to be filled on the City Counoil, to-wit, the vacancy occurring in the office of City Councilman hereto- fore held by Sydney J. Babcock, until the next regular election in said Oity of Tustin, and that he should be and is hereby declared elected to the City Council of the Oity of Tustin until the regular election held in said City of Tustin. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at said Special Munici- pal Election J. LYLE FORNEY was elected to the office of City Councilman of the City of Tustin until the next regular elec- tion held in said City of Tustin. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 1941, by the City Council of the City of Tustin, California.
