NEIGHBORHOODS A, C, AND F
The Planning Commission provided direction to staff to schedule a tour of Tustin Legacy prior to
the April 28, 2009, meeting at 5:00 p.m.
The April 28 tour of Tustin Legacy will include Neighborhoods A (Education Village), C
(Regional Park), and F (The District at Tustin Legacy). Additional neighborhoods will be toured
on a future date. Highlighted sites will include the Orange County Rescue Mission's Village of
Hope, the Orange County Social Services Tustin Family Campus, the initial phase of the
Advanced Technology and Education Park, the Orange County Sheriff's Regional Training
Academy, the blimp hangars, and The District at Tustin Legacy. The tour will focus on
community master planning, architectural styles, adaptive reuse, new construction, affordable
housing, public facilities, parking, and other community development issues.
Following the tour, a discussion has been agendized as part of the Commission's regular 7:00
p.m. meeting to identify possible future agenda items related to Tustin Legacy. The discussion
also provides a forum for the Commission to generally discuss the tour and to make
recommendations for future tours.
Staff has prepared the attached materials to provide the Commission with some background
information on the area to be toured. Included in the materials are photographs and a map of
the tour route. These materials will also be made available to the members of the public that
participate in the tour.
