SUBJECT: DECLARATION OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT
SUMMARY
Declare city equipment as detailed in attached report as surplus in accordance with Section
1626a (2) of the Tustin City Code and authorize their sale at public auction.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Declare, in accordance with the Tustin City Code -Section 1626a (2), the
attached itemized list of equipment as surplus and not required for public use; and
2. Authorize the Public Works Department to sell the various equipment at the next
available public auction.
FISCAL IMPACT
The estimated value of the listed equipment is $4,600. The net proceeds from the sale of
the equipment at auction will be credited to the City's appropriate revenue fund accordingly.
DISCUSSION
Section 1626a (2) of the Tustin City Code, requires the purchasing agent to prepare a
written estimate of value for any surplus items not usable by the City or not required for
public use. Additionally, the code further requires that the City Council must find that these
surplus items are not required for public use. The attached report of surplus equipment to be
sold at public auction specifies the estimated value at $4,600.
