A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA
RECOMMENDING THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERN-
MENT SHOULD RECOGNIZE ITS CONTINUING RES-
PONSIBILITY FOR THE RELIEF OF THE EM-
PLOYABLE UNEMPLOYED.
The City Council of the City of Tustin does resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tustin are
informed and believe that the officials of the cities and counties
of California believe it is socially sound and financially im-
perative that the relief of the employable unemployed be a con-
tinuing federal responsibility; and
WHEREAS, it becomes increasingly apparent that large
numbers of employable unemployed, for a number of reasons, will
not soon find employment in private industry; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that local governments be in
a position definitely to plan for the financial requirements for
unemployment relief, at least for one year in advance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the City Council of the City of Tustin, California,
believes and recommends that the federal government should recog-
nize its continuing responsibility for the relief of the employ-
able unemployed by adopting at this time some policy generally to
be followed over a period of years; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said policy should:
1. By a plan that would provide for federal relief
of employable unemployed;
2. By a program which, although it may change some-
what from year to year, will remain fixed during each successive
fiscal period.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution
be forwarded to the Congressman from this district, and to the
members of the Senate of the United States from California.

of Tustin, California, held on the 4th day of January, 1937,
